The Venue at Harrah's Horseshoe Casino

It was no coincidence that Harrah's Horseshoe Hammond Casino chose to open its doors to its new $500 million dollar floating casino and 90,000 sq. ft. performance theatre "The Venue" on August 8, 2008. The reason? The area near Chicago has a large Asian population and in Chinese culture the triple-8 date signifies good luck and prosperity. Much more than luck went into the design and engineering of this floating casino on Lake Michigan, just look at the partial list below of esteemed list of companies involved in the construction of this outstanding casino and performance venue.

The Venue was designed by renowned Montreal-based Scéno Plus and has telescopic seating capacity of 2,400; total room capacity of more than 3,300. It boasts six VIP suites with three-rows of seats, couches and full service salons with plasma TV's and a warmly sophisticated 3-level lobby with walls composed of LED pixels. Large-scale entertainment productions, sporting events and banquets may be accomodated in less than two hours by removal of the telescopic seating. Bette Midler, Smashing Pumpkins and James Blunt opened The Venue back to back. Some of the premiere acts featured at The Venue include Seal, Alicia Keys, Stone Temple Pilots, Gladys Knight and Staind. View Harrahs Horseshoe website for the latest featured acts.
